About David Rayner

Research interests

Downscaling climate scenarios: Downscaling involves providing information about changes in weather-related phenomena at a regional/local scale, based on coarse-resolution results from computer simulations of the entire earth system (GCMs) or regional models (RCMs). I am currently using weather generator methods and historical perturbation methods.

Research group

The Regional Climate Group, RCG, at the University of Gothenburg has a unique profile within the Swedish climate research community, and an international reputation in the field of statistical climate analysis and paleoclimatology. RCG represents a successful research environment, with a high scientific production rate, good connections with international and national research communities, and modern climate research tools and GIS competences.
