I am a postdoctoral researcher mostly investigating near-surface wind speed variability to quantify their socioeconomic and environmental implications (from air quality to sea level changes). To do so, I use in-situ observations and outputs form reanalyses and climate model simulations.

After a bachelor’s degree in physics and a master’s degree in atmospheric sciences, I obtained my Ph.D. in natural science specializing in physical geography in 2020 from the University of Gothenburg. In 2021 I completed my first postdoc, and since January 2022 I am conducting a 3-years International Postdoc granted by the Swedish Research Council (VR grant 2021-00444)

My research interests at the moment are:

  • Assessing and attributing changes in near-surface winds across Sweden over the past decades (main topic of my Ph.D. studies)
  • Evaluating the impact of near-surface winds on the occurrence of extreme sea level rises along the coasts of the Baltic Sea (main topic of my current postdoctoral project)
  • Exploring climate of the Tibetan Plateau and of its highest peaks using in-situ observations and climate model simulations (main topic of my first postdoctoral project)
  • Quantifying the impact of climate (and wind flow) on the accumulation and dispersion of air pollutants in Turin (Italy) and Eastern-Europe cities
  • Developing a tool that uses satellite radar imagines for the management and protection of seagrass from anchoring boats on the Swedish West Coast

Currently, I am part of three research groups:

During my current 3-years project, I will mostly be located at the DIST in Turin (Italy) and visit regularly the RCG group in Gothenburg and the Climatoc-Lab in Valencia.
