Om Hongxing He

Forskning
My research interest is focus on modeling Nitrous Oxide emissions (one of the strongest greenhouse gases) from different land use, mainly focusing on forest soil and agriculture soil in Sweden. A process oriented model, the CoupModel is used as the main methodology to simulate the atmospheric-plant-soil continuum.
The project is funded by Swedish Energy Agency with the project title “practicable tool for estimation of nitrous oxide when cropping biomass in agriculture and forestry”. Two modelling approaches are used. CoupModel is used to identify the important factors which regulate the N2O emissions both in emission magnitude and emission timing. Then GIS will be used for up scaling.

My PhD project will cooperate and contribute with Nitro Europe project, LAGGE (Landscape Greenhouse Gas Exchange) project, the strategic research area BECC (Biodiversity and Ecosystems in a Changing Climate) etc.

Suggestions on management practice mitigating Nitrous Oxide emission could also be within the framework of this PhD project.
